abby + jon – wedding

September 30, 2009

Ahhh Spirit Ranch. I do believe it’s just one of the most beautiful places in Lubbock. I mean maybe I’m a little biased, since that’s where Jordan and I got married and all… but still :)

You blogsters might remember Abby and Jon from their engagement session. I think we knew we had a connection when we talked about chacos for a good five minutes. But really, it was so fun getting to hear all about wedding plans and visions and details during their engagement session, and getting to see it all play out Saturday. It was beautiful! Abby is so creative and had the funnest ideas, and Jon had so many thoughtful touches that really made the day special. And the music. The music was WAY fun. Any ceremony that includes a song from Juno is off to a good start.

Also, my #1 second shooter just got her blog up and running. Check Courtney out!

Let’s get this party started.

jasmine + wes – wedding

September 23, 2009

I’m not much of a city girl. And I don’t think I would have ever labeled myself as “not a city girl” until this past weekend. But even through all the traffic and crazy roads and whatnot, it felt good to conquer it and show it who’s boss… like a boss.

It was SO worth it though. Jasmine and Wes’ wedding was so beautiful and everyone was just so happy to be there celebrating with people they love. And I love how Jasmine and Wes were really thinking about their guests (and their photographer) when they scheduled their wedding at 2 p.m., so we’d be out in time to go watch the Tech/UT game :)

Here are some favs from their wedding festivities.

I think this was the first moment she REALLY felt like a bride. Got the hair did. Put the veil on… then, OH WOW. I really look like a bride!

meagan + chris – engagement

September 22, 2009

I met these two lovebirds through Vanessa and Adam, a couple who got married in August. Meagan and Chris definitely spiced up their reception with some sweet dance moves, so I’m excited what they have up their sleeves for their own reception next summer :)

One of the many things I love about engagement sessions is that it gives me a chance to get to know my clients better. To know not only their love story and how wedding planning is going, but just to see how they relate to each other, and what they like and how they dress, and what makes them feel uncomfortable… haha. Anyhow, I just love it. It’s always a good feeling when you’re getting to know a client, but when that turns into a sweet little friendship, it makes it all worth it. Anyhow, if I keep writing, I think I could cross over into major cheeseball territory, so I’ll just start with some photos.

an enjoyable saturday morning

September 12, 2009

I’m a huge fan of sunshine, but these gloomy, overcast mornings always seem to come at the perfect time. My morning started off with Deuce and I paying Dignan the dog a little visit. They ran around and chased each other… well, Dignan chased Deuce :) … for a looong time. After that, it was bath time for Deuce because I think he and Dignan rolled around in just about every muddy spot. But mud means fun, right?

After that excitement, a couple girlfriends and I headed to Starbucks and chatted it up on the patio while the rain came down a bit. It was perfect.

Now I’m ready for some football!

julie + nick – wedding

September 8, 2009

This wedding was such an enjoyable thing to be a part of. Everyone who was a part of this day was laid-back and hilarious and that made for an awesome combination.

I know this might sound a little weird, but I realized during this wedding that I love becoming a tiny tiny part of a couple’s love story. This fact dawned on me right after Julie and Nick saw each other for the first time. Julie’s mom was peeking through the door, trying to get a glimpse of what was going on, and she told me all she could see was me wiping tears off my face. Haha yes, I got caught. A wedding is just such an amazing thing to be a part of, and I am honored over and over again that I get to play a small role in it.

Okay okay okay, onto the pictures! There are kind of a lot.

Julie looked up from the note Nick wrote her, and told Nick’s mom, “Aww I just love your son!” Sweet moment.

texas tech vs. north dakota

September 7, 2009

Man, it sure felt good being back on the field! Saturday was something I would call action-packed… Started shooting an awesome wedding around 10, left the reception at 4:30 and changed on the way to Jones Stadium, got my sweet photo vest, and on the field I went. I think my eyes almost fell out, but it was such a fun day.

Here are a couple shots from the game – check out the rest on Facebook or Red Raider Sports.

isaiah – super tough

September 3, 2009

Ahhhh, this child just gets me! He has the cutest, wide-open mouth smile you’ve ever seen. And he’s starting to WALK! Insane.

Janae is the sweetest wife ever and thought she’d surprise her hubby with a little dose of cuteness. Kyle is a coach out at Levelland, so, as you can see, Isaiah is totally fitting the part of tough football player guy.
