It’s been so much fun watching these kiddos grow up. Hollin is beautiful and such a great big sister, and Luke is hilarious and he’s even starting to talk a little bit.

Anyhow, here are some of my favorites from our mini-session.

Blog world, meet my sister and my brother-in-law. They got married back in April, and came to Lubbock this past weekend to visit us and go to the game (which we WILL NOT discuss). But other than the whole game thing, we had a great time, and those two are pretty fun in front of a camera, I must say.

And really, it’s just fun seeing your sister in love. I think that’s what I enjoyed most about this little session we did. It brings me so much joy that these two are so darn happy.

We had this session scheduled for the night I got back in town from Oklahoma. So I’m not gonna lie, I was a little bit tired from driving all over the place and whatnot, but the second I met these two, I realized my lack of sleep wouldn’t hold me back from how much fun we would have. I really enjoyed hanging out with Kimberly and Corey and they’re just so darn cute together… so that’s always fun to take pictures of :)

This was way more than just an engagement session. Bevin (and her sister Megan) and I were really good friends when I lived in Katy, Texas, back in the day. I moved away from Katy in the middle of 8th grade and hadn’t seen them since I moved. Then, of course, Facebook reconnected us, and it’s been fun to be a part of eachother’s lives again.

But I never thought I’d get to see them again, much less be their photographer!! It had been 11 years since I had seen them. ELEVEN YEARS! I mean, I don’t even feel old enough to say that I haven’t seen someone in that long, but it was so much fun getting to spend some more time with them. And their mom said I still sound the same… So that means I sound like a 13-year-old. Thanks, Belva :) I’m fully aware that I get squeaky when I get excited. haha.

Anyhow, Bevin and Brandon recently had a ribbon cutting for their AWESOME gym – Grapevine Crossfit. So we started out there and cruised around town after that. Enjoy!

Funny story.

Jordan and I went to a Young Life fundraiser about two weeks ago, and there were a couple of high school students that got up to share how Young Life has affected them. Well, one young fellow said something about how “…when I met Jeremy Smith, I didn’t know my life would never be the same…” (In a positive way, of course :)

I turned to Jordan and I said, “that’s the name of my groom for next week’s wedding… I wonder if it’s the same guy!” Turns out it is, in fact, the same Jeremy Smith. Small world I tell ya.

So, needless to say, Jeremy and Kerbi are both amazing people who have clearly affected lives around them. It was a joy to be a part of their special, beautiful day!

It’s basically killing me that I have had a wedding and engagement session and I haven’t shared ANYTHING yet! I’m not used to being out of town for so long.

Anyhow, just a couple more days of being gone, but here are a couple of photos to share.

I’m leaving tomorrow morning , and I’ll be gone for about a week.

We’re starting off this little tour-de-tejas/oklahoma with a wedding in Dallas, then an engagement session Monday. Then, my sister and I are going up to Oklahoma to keep my mom some company while she has some out-patient surgery. All within the last couple weeks, we found out my mom has breast cancer. Apparently, it’s “the kind you want to have,” aka DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ – non-invasive), so we’re all praying it’ll be as easy of a process as these doctor-folk claim it to be. I guess it all boils down to the fact that God is sovereign and He will be glorified through it all, so that’s always an awesome truth to rest in.

With finding out this news and not really knowing what to do with emotions and whatnot, you tend to feel a little helpless. Around that time, my sister came across the Susan G. Komen 3-day Walk for the Cure in November 2010, where TONS of people get together and literally walk for three days around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, to help raise money for breast cancer research. So we decided to jump on that train. We thought it would be a cool way to show our mom how much we love her  – that’s all :)  We’re definitely getting an early start on fund-raising, but if you want to know more, check it out.

Hopefully I’ll have some time to bliggy blog while I’m gone, but if not… until next week, my friends.

Allison and Chase snagged the first Mini-Session of the season! And we had so much fun.

I was informed that Chase is a car guru, so I took them to a car junkyard, thinking he would find lots of beauties in the midst of, well, junk. Maybe there weren’t any beauties, but those junky cars were sure made beautiful once these two were in the picture.

These two have been married a little over a month… aren’t they just precious??

Ashley was BY FAR the calmest bride ever! I guess it’s expected that little things might go wrong on your wedding day, but she let one thing after another fall right off her sleeve, and she continued to enjoy her special day.

Brandon was going to play a trick on me and have me thinking that the groom was lost and no one could find him… His plan fell through, but I still thought it was pretty funny. It was so much fun watching these two fun-loving peeps welcome their wedding day, completely relaxed and with a sense of humor.
