Ahhh these two are adorable. And they’re expecting a baby in April! Little miss Allison isn’t showing yet, but she is gonna be one cute preggo.

Sam is graduating from Texas Tech this year – so exciting!

Gosh it’s been fun to watch these kiddos grow up. I love this time of year – it’s like a little reunion for me and sweet families like the Levels.

While I was in Houston for Bevin and Brandon’s wedding, I hopped over to my cousin’s after the wedding, and we squeezed in some senior pictures Sunday morning before I flew back home.

And what’s even more awesome is that Laramie is going to be a Red Raider next year!! Woooohooooo!

I shot Meagan’s (shelby’s older sister) wedding in June, and just fell in love with their sweet family! It was so great to see Shelby and the gang again. She’s a superstar volleyball player – pretty awesome.

This wedding was a special one. You might remember these two from their engagement session a while back.

I was bff with Bevin and her twin sister Megan back in junior high, before my family moved away from Katy, Texas. We were all basically attached at the hip, because that’s what band kids do :) Being around Bevin and her family this past weekend brought back so many memories, and I kept cracking up because Bevin still makes the same facial expressions she did over ten years ago. So funny.

I even drove around where we used to live back in the day… talk about nostalgia! It was fun though. Pretty cool to think what life was like ten years ago, and then have crazy “whoa moments” of how much has changed.

But before I get all emotional, I best post some sweetness from this weekend.

Here are some favorites from our mini session with Sara and Glynn yesterday. Such a sweet couple.

Let the mini session season begin! This family is a special one, I tell ya. We go way back to my Starbucks days and it’s crazy and awesome to think that they are now some of our bestest friends. I couldn’t imagine life without them!

Now that it’s out in the open that Jordan and I are expecting a little one in March (woohoooo!!), I think it’s time to talk about how this might change Brittany Strebeck Photography. My job is awesome like that because it can change with our little family as we grow, too. But here’s the thing. In order for me to say exactly how this business will play out over the next year, I would have to know how having a baby will affect our daily lives and schedules and jobs, etc. Needless to say, I’m not too sure what that will look like, other than the fact that we’ll be the happiest parents in the woooorld.

Here’s the thing. Ultimately, being a wife/mom is way more important to me than being a photographer, so obviously, that role comes first FO SHO. I don’t even want to come close to having to choose between my family and my job in any circumstance. So here’s what the hubs and I have decided. I’ll stop taking sessions next year beginning in February (I’m serious, seniors… get on it!!!), and I’ll start back up in May (I have two weddings scheduled in May, so that’s what I’m referring to). Now when I say “start back up,” I don’t know exactly what that means, and I don’t think I will until next year. Whether it means I’ll take a couple sessions a week, or one a month, or none at all, I’m resting in the fact that things will fall into place the way they need to. In all reality, I don’t expect to be shooting many sessions at all. But you know, never say never, blah blah blah.

And weddings… Ahhh weddings. I do believe weddings and me are taking a break from each other. I love them so much, but I’ve always said that when a baby comes along, I couldn’t imagine peacing out on the one day of the week that Jordan has off. Huge props to moms who shoot weddings and have husbands with normal people jobs, but I’m just not one of those super human ladies who is willing to figure out what that looks like. I’m sure I’ll take a couple of weddings a year, but I’m confident that weddings will no longer be my main photog squeeze.
