A little bit of random

June 27, 2012

Okay, maybe a lotta bit of random. Here’s our last couple weeks in a nutshell. A really random nutshell.

Ruh roh. The good news is that this has only happened twice. I guess I’ll wait to bust out the duct tape.

This guy and his faces…

2012-06-27_009

Speaking of faces, I’m pretty sure Cooper got his looks from his daddio. Crazy right??

aaaand speaking of daddio… this was on Father’s Day. A sleepy Coop at church needed some cuddles from dad.

Cuddle time on the love sac with Elli

I finally busted out the boxes and started packing. I have a feeling this little guy will make it a slow, but entertaining process :)

Don’t worry – I didn’t get poked in the eyes with barbed wire… They’re still healing from LASIK (which is AMAAZZINNNGG!!)

I know everyone says it, but seriously… What in the world did we do before we had Cooper?? Thank you, Jesus, for this precious gift!

When I first signed up for swim lessons this summer through Texas Tech, I must admit I was skeptical. I was just wondering what a 14 month old would do in the water? But really, the water isn’t his most favorite thing in the world, so I thought if anything, he’d at least become more comfortable with it. Well, it’s been so much fun, and Coop is definitely learning to love the water! I mean, he hasn’t mastered the backstroke or anything, but it sure is fun :)

It’s even more fun when it’s guaranteed we get to see these two every morning for two weeks!

Jordan is wrapping up his last week at work, and his office had a farewell party for him. It was so great to hear stories and celebrate my man. Coop especially enjoyed the ice cream and opening Jordan’s present (he got a Texas Tech football signed by all of his co-workers). I sure am proud of him for working so hard at Tech for three years. He’s put in some crazy hours, but he has always done his job well and joyfully, and has always been happy to come home to his fam. It’s because of his hard work that I get to stay at home with Coop and love on that boy.

Oh, these two!! Remember when Matthew proposed?? And then when I took some pictures of these two really cute/hilarious/fun/engaged people? Well, we had a Couples Shower for them last night, and it was so much fun getting to celebrate them with many of their close friends. And it’s weird to think about (and by weird, I mean so depressing), but it was probably our last big shindig at Casa Grande. Man, this house has been good to us. And good for parties and fun.

They played a little game where they were asked questions like “who’s the better cook,” or “who is more spontaneous,” and they would lift either Matthew or Sabrina’s shoe for whoever they thought fit the question best. So fun!

Sabrina and her momma, and then the three little pigs (during another game that was played… so funny)

Backyard Fun

June 22, 2012

We hopped on over to Clovis for Father’s Day last weekend. It was a laid-back, fun time with gooood food. And Coop got to spend some time with his second cousins on the trampoline.

My new favorite picture of Coop. I kind of just teared up looking at it. It’s just so Cooper.

Seeing a theme here? So much fun, sweet times with friends, and peeps be gettin married!

Before I jump into these pics from a couple weeks ago (I know, I’m a little behind), I do want to say that we’ve been working so hard on our house and there will be some intense before/after pics, along with reasons why you should buy it. And I got LASIK! Guys, it’s incredible. It’s only been three days, and I can already see 20/20. I’m still just amazed by the whole process (even though it freaked me out slightly), but it’s just awesome that something like that is possible. No more four-eyes for me!

Our friends Bo and Caroline had a Couples Shower in Midland, so our family and Amy went to stay with our former roomie, Chris, and we hung out all weekend. We got some good pool time in, and us girls and Coop cheered on the boys in a pretty intense basketball game.

Lots of this happened – hanging out and not doing much of anything. So good for the soul.

2012-06-17_003

Y’all. This makes me so happy (well, for lots of reasons, but let me tell you one in particular). I think matching is so fun. Amy thinks matching is not fun and embarrassing. So, of course I always try to make it happen. Even our friend Allison gave us the same swimsuit coverup one time, so that just maybe we might match. So before this couples shower, we spoke nothing of outfits, and we all walked out and started to leave, and saw what had happened. SO FUN!!!! I’m so proud of Amy, she didn’t even fight it :)

Then the following weekend was Hilary and John’s wedding! Here are some pictures from the rehearsal dinner… The bottom right photo is Amy, Hil and I – we were roomies all through college and called ourselves “the mighty wild women.” So of course we had to do our little chant/cheer/song we made up and represent the MWW. And the top right photo is Bo and Caroline – they’re getting married in July! (Which is like two weeks away… seriously???)

And then a few pics from the wedding day… I clearly wasn’t the best picture taker there ever was.
