Our Trip to Sedan, NM

July 28, 2012

Layne and Laurie (Jordan’s bro and his wifey) bought a farm in Sedan, New Mexico, and they’ve been superstars at adjusting to the farm life in the middle of nowhere. We went up to visit a couple weeks ago, and it was the most perfect, relaxing getaway we could have ever taken! It was so great to escape the packing frenzy that we are in the middle of – I loved not having the option of packing boxes or being productive :)

This pretty much sums up what Cooper did the whole time. Played outside in the dirt.

I do love that goofy husband of mine.

Here we are in Layne’s corn! And I think Laurie took that picture of Coop… I just love that face. Actually, Laurie took A LOT of these pictures, so thanks for that. She’s quite the photographer!

It’s not too shabby seeing this from your backyard

Laying in a hammock chewing on a stick?! I think Coop was having the time of his life. Boston will probably be JUST like Sedan, so I think we’re in good shape. Oh, wait… I must have gotten confused just then.

I took some pictures of Layne and Laurie around their farm and house… Aren’t they just the cutest?

Coop got to ride Taco for the first time! He loved the horses from far away, but once he was on Taco, it was all business and verrry serious. So funny.

I haven’t ridden a horse since one stepped on my foot in junior high, so of course Layne made me face my fear. Me and Taco moved like two feet, but I consider that a victory.

The Barnes Family

July 25, 2012

There are many things I love about this family, but one of those many things is that every time I take their pictures, all they want is for the pictures to be “them.” So basically I’m just hanging out with this precious/entertaining/beautiful family and taking pictures as they’re being one big happy family. I love when sessions are like that. It does my heart good.

They recently moved out to Vintage Township, which makes for an adorable place for photos!

The Brown Family

July 19, 2012

This is most definitely not the first time you’ve seen these sweet girls’ faces, but it IS the first time we’ve done a session with the WHOLE family, and not just the kiddos! It was so much fun to see this sweet family together, and I’m sure going to miss taking their pictures. Or maybe y’all should just come visit us in Boston, and I’ll take your pictures there?! :)

It seems like yesterday I was taking Bailley’s high school senior pictures. You might remember her sweet family’s photos from earlier this year. And now she’s engaged to Robert, and they’re getting married next June! These two are meant for each other – that’s for sure. They have so much fun together (as you will see)!

Boston Bound in 26 Days

July 12, 2012

That’s weird. But cool and exciting. And then really sad. But good.

Welcome to my mind, people.

It’s officially packing time in the Strebeck house. But also house-showing time, traveling time, and hang out time. What I’m coming to find out is that there is A LOT going on, and I’m trying to do it all, and then I end up attempting everything and not doing anything well. But you know, I think that’s just what this right-before-you-move stage must be like. Lots of loose ends to be tied up in our Lubbock life. But the great thing about it all is that we really haven’t just sat around being sad… We’ve gotten to do some really fun stuff. Went to a Rangers game with friends, Jordan and I went to Mexico for five days (!!!), and we’re about to visit Jordan’s brother in Sedan, NM (I’m sure all of you have heard of this metropolis), and then we’ll be headed to a good friend’s wedding in Houston. All of that fun might mean that we won’t have too many boxes packed in the next couple weeks, but I’m 100% okay with procrastinating and pulling some all-nighters, if it means we get to make some memories with our peeps.

So that’s what has been going on/what’s coming up. You’ll see pictures from all of these things at some point, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be slacka-lackin’ on the ol blog. But then again, maybe not. I’m sure my computer will be the perfect distraction from packing our family up :) Do you see how Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde I am?! Geez.

Get ready for some random pictures… Here we are at the Rangers game

Jordan was impressing me with his Macarena dance skills on the way from Dallas to Clovis. He’s got moves, guys.

And Papa taught Coop how to use power tools, of course.
