The Klemme Family

December 16, 2014

Funny story about this family… When we were house hunting in Midland while living in Boston, we ended up putting an offer on a house, site unseen. Our realtor told us the house was perfect for us AND the family that lived in it at the time was awesome and they were actually moving across the street. Well, our realtor was right. We love our home and our across-the-street neighbors ARE awesome! We’ve loved getting to know them, and we also enjoy the fact that their oldest son mows our lawn and their sweet 9-year-old comes over and loves on my boys while I work. Not to mention all the times Emily tells me my garage is open, or brings us over dinner, or shares the mother-of-six-children wisdom she has… Yep, awesome. And they’reĀ  good-lookin’ too… see for yourself!

The Fuentes Family

December 8, 2014

Although Midland feels big sometimes, I’m definitely reminded every now and then that is really IS a small town. I met Heather through a mutual friend shortly after moving here, then realized Amy and Chris are in their small group through church, and then I show up to CBS (Community Bible Study) and realize Boone is in Mason’s class and Cooper is in Matthew’s class. I love it. I love instances that make a big, new place seem familiar (all of my big city friends are probably laughing right now). And it definitely helps that this family is THE SWEETEST family you’ll ever meet.

Oh, these two. I know Dillon from my college days at Tech – he is one crazy mofo (do people still say that?). If Dillon is in the room, he’s the one telling captivating stories and making people laugh or engaging people in good conversation. If he’s not in the room and Dillon comes up in conversation, then people start telling hilarious Dillon stories, one after another. Everyone loves Dillon.

I’ve always been curious to see the special lady he’d end up with, and I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect person for Dil! Kallie is beautiful, passionate, so fun, and my kids love her, so that’s always a plus. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her, and seeing them together is just the best.

I really can’t believe Dillon lives in Midland. After college, he served our country as an Army Ranger, and it was the weirdest feeling never really knowing where your good friend was or what he was doing or how much danger he was in. Now we have him nice and close and he’s bringing his honey along for the ride. BONUS!!

It really is a shame they never have any fun.

The oil field is what brought Dillon to Midland (crazy, right?!!). His pickup brought him here too… hehe.

The Blackketter Family

December 5, 2014

I went to high school with these two – it’s always fun taking a walk down memory lane!! I took their pictures last summer, and little miss Reagan is growing up so much. By the way, it’s December and 70 degrees. Whaaaat?! It sure made for an enjoyable session with this sweet family.

We’ll start with Reagan’s love for Paddington

The Cumbie Family

December 2, 2014

These sweet friends of ours now live in Fort Worth, so it was a total bonus that not only did we get to see them while we were there for Thanksgiving, but I got to take their pictures, too. Grey is such a handsome little guy – it’s been so much fun watching him grow. We sure are big fans of the Cumbies!!

Sweet baby Charlotte

December 1, 2014

Charlotte Olivia (my niece!!) was born November 24, and I’m one lucky duck that I got to be there for it all. But before she came into the world, we snuck in a quick maternity session the evening before Jen went into the hospital. Are you kidding me… no pregnant woman looks this good the day before she has a baby!! Maybe I think that because I have memories of being swollen and LARGE. But seriously, I’m impressed.2014-12-01_001

Oh, Molly. You are cute.

2014-12-01_002

Labor went well – Jen rocked it and I took pictures through happy tears. Nothing beats seeing people you love experiencing something awesome.
