Caroline + Bo – Engagement

I met Bo freshman year at Texas Tech, and we’ve been close friends since (almost NINE years?? yikes). I could go on and on about how great Bo is and what a wonderful friend he is, but that’s just not the point of this blog post (or the fact that I’m no longer “college-age”), is it? :)

The point is that OHMYGOODNESS, Bo and Caroline went on a blind date (not just a blind date… an i’m-flying-from-midland-to-houston-for-a-date blind date), hit it off, fell in love, got engaged, and are getting married in July. Now that’s a fun story.

What else is fun is the fact that these two are stinkin’ cute, and laugh a lot, which works out great for pictures :)

And another thing… We took these photos near Ingram, Texas… B-E-A-UTIFAL. Okay, now get ready for picture overload.

Matthew & Sabrina – the proposal

oh. my. goodness. These two have been a huge part of our lives for the past 7 years. Matthew and Sabrina were in the youth group I interned with throughout college. So there they were – Matthew, the little punk of a kid, and sweet Sabrina, with her braces and middle school-ness going on. I never knew we would all grow so close… But what’s more important here, is that I never thought THEY would grow so close, much less ever date each other! Well, they proved me wrong, bigtime. And they quickly became one of the darn cutest couples I know. And now they’re engaged. That’s how it works, folks. I could say more about these two, but I’ll wait for the emotional aspect to kick in when I do their engagement photos. haha.

Matthew did an awesome job of putting the perfect night together for Sabrina. She had NO idea what was coming, and as you will see, I believe she was more than pleasantly surprised.

Pardon me if I geek out a bit, but it was DARK in this room, and I was shooting at ISO5000… Seriously? I mean, I know there’s plenty of grain, but way to go, 5DmkII! Okay, I’m done.

Brandi + Britton – Engagement

Almost two years ago, Britton got Brandi a fun just-because-session for Christmas, and I took their pictures back when they were dating and whatnot. Now, they’re engaged!! It’s so fun to see couples grow and celebrate something so exciting!

It’s always a special thing to photograph friends… especially these two lovebirds. These giggly, fun-loving lovebirds.

I met Lin my sophomore year in college in a photography class. That’s where our friendship began. She has the most contagious laugh ever, so we always got ourselves in trouble while attempting to be quiet in class, but never ever succeeding. Our fellow photog classmates called us the twins (even though we look nothing alike), because we’d always show up to class wearing the same color shirt… I mean, that happened ALL the time.

Anyhow, here’s a random old pic from us on a photo trip to Guanajuato… you know, for kicks :) and yes, we have the same color shirt on.

kaitlan + nathan – 1st anniversary

I was thrilled when Kaitlan asked if I would take pictures of them eating their cake on their first anniversary! Isn’t that such a fun idea??

So they ate their cake in front of where their reception was – The Watson Building. And then we walked around the block, took some more pictures, and then headed to the park to play with their sweet dog, Bentley.

laurie + layne – engagement

Blog world, meet my brother (in-law) Layne, and his lovely fiance, Laurie. These two are stinkin’ cute, and they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. It all started in their horticulture class… Layne had to work hard to get Laurie’s attention, but after plenty of tries, she couldn’t resist! Which is kinda funny… because Jordan and I had a horticulture class together back in the day, and that’s where he tried to sweep me off my feet by yelling out in class things like, “no, Brittany, I will not make out with you!” I’m guessing Layne went a different route in the flirting arena, but I guess we all ended up in the same place!

Anyhow, we took some pictures a couple months ago for their Save the Dates, and then waited to do the rest of their pictures so we could have some green :)

megan + jake – engagement

Love love LOVED this session! It was my first for real session since my little man was born… Talk about a good way to jump back into things. These two were a joy to be around and I loved getting a peek into their fun-loving relationship. And Megan is the cutest dresser ever, and can pull off some rockin’ heels like no one I know.

Aric + Casey

I’m sure most of you blogsters have heard of Aric + Casey. They are some dang good photogs here in Lubbock.

Like any other job, there are pros and cons to what you do.

Photographer con: You forget all about Christmas Cards for your own family because you spend your time on other peoples’ Christmas Cards (which I love, btw… don’t get me wrong :)

Photographer pro: Chances are, there are other photographers out there who have the same “con” going on, and we do a last minute trade off.

And it was SO FUN!! Aric and Casey are dear friends of ours, so that’s always a plus. And they’re models – another plus. There are lots of plusses in this situation (except for the fact that I don’t know how to spell plusses).

Onto the loveliness.

I’m aware these next three are all really similar… I just loved them so much though :)
